Achille Marozzo was one of the great combat Maestros of Renaissance-era Italy. As well as a detailed and comprehensive approach to rapier fencing, his art included a system of "prese" or close-combat techniques that an unarmed defender could employ against an enemy wielding a dagger.
Marozzo's Pressas links Scans of Marozzo's complete close-combat system are online here. Pete Kautz's book on Marozzo's system is available here. You can see a number of the prese interpreted and reconstructed here .
